| A word from our Senior Minister |
| Recently, after I performed a wedding at our church, and walked out into the brightly lit day to greet guests, I noticed two sweet faces across the street. These two curious girls were peering out at the bride and groom from the safety of their front porch, probably discussing their own weddings as girls often do. But I couldn’t help thinking that they were also longing to be a part of this happy and beautiful event, longing to greet the bride and groom with everyone else, longing to get up close to see if all those sparkles on the brides dress were diamonds or just beads.
Longing for connection and belonging is a part of human life. In Christ’s church we need never stand at a distance, across a street, just hoping for connection. Instead the church of Jesus Christ is an open invitation—all are invited to celebrate God’s presence and all are welcome to belong. Here at the church by the park we fervently invite you to find a place of belonging in our church family. We want to welcome you with open arms the moment you come. Do not stand at a distance. Come join us on our journey together! |
